Season 3 Episode 3 Too Many Pinkie Pies

The Hub channel has a website of its own where it shows clips and games of the TV series it has. They have also started uploading the new TV episodes on the site, such as the new My Little Pony episodes.

Season 3 Episode 3, Too Many Pinkie Pies is a great episode for the new season. Pinkie Pie has found out that she is missing out on fun with her friends because there is only one of her. Twilight mentions that the only way to have as much fun as she is wanting to is to have more then one of her.

This episode is a great one and feels more like what usually happened in season 1 and 2 of My Little Pony. It was filled with comedy  and a simple story line where facts couldn't get all messed up creating plot holes, unlike the first two episodes of the season did.  With pinkie being the focus of the episode you know there has to be quite a bit of humor in the episode. One of my favorite moments is actually pictured below, it is a reference to the old My Little Pony cartoons.

The fact that they included this in the episode just made my day, even though I'm not a fan of the old My Little Pony. The animation in this cartoon was done well as usual, capturing the spells and comedy well. However there was some mistakes in the animation, like the amount of pinkie pies for one thing. The spell was only said a few times however there was at least twice as many pinkie pies as there should be. The amount changes randomly through the episode in the animation, but the amount also helps you visual how it would be to have that many pinkie pies in a room.  This episode is absolutely amazing and definitely one I recommend watching!

Season 3 Episode 2 The Crystal Empire Part 2

Hub has season 3 of My Little Pony premiering now every Saturday Morning. However for those that aren't up at the time of the premier, or they don't have the Hub channel there is another solution. On the Hub site they now upload the new episodes for people to watch without ads.

In the 2nd episode of season 3 the story of the Crystal Empire continues. In the past episode Cadence's power had started to fail, the evil King closing in to take over again. However she is able to get the shield back up giving Twilight Sparkle time to find the Crystal Heart.

Personally I like this episode a lot better then the first episode. The animation of the crystal ponies is absolutely amazing, and makes me want a toyline dedicated to them. Also the darkness of the spells that are cast in this episode ads a new dimension to My Little Pony. Most of what has happened in the past seasons was happy times with a few evil things. However in these two episodes it shows that the ponies can turn evil with just a few spells. Also I like the maturity that was shown in Twilight Sparkle this episode, she chose the safety of others over passing her test. I have never been very fond of Twilight Sparkle, so this amount of maturity is nice to see in her. I think though one of my favorite parts in this episode is how Shining Armor threw Cadence like a javelin at Spike, after all throwing your wife is not something you see very often in cartoons. This episode didn't really have many plotholes like the first part did, however I am curious how the heck Princess Cadence was the crystal princess when she wasn't alive a thousand years ago. How did that blood line continue, unless all the kingdom's are related to one another. All in all this is a pretty good episode, much better then the first one.

Season 3 Episode 1: Crystal Empire Part 1

The Hub has decided to start giving people a way to watch their shows without trying to have the channel. It is difficult for many My Little Pony fans to watch the episodes legally considering now many TV providers have the Hub channel. So now they upload the episodes to their website for everyone to watch!

The season 3 premier has brought up a new kingdom in Equestria. The Crystal Empire was hidden for a thousand years and has finally reappeared, but it is in grave danger. Only one pony can save it, Twilight Sparkle, with the help of her friends of course. When Twilight goes to the Crystal Empire she see's that her brother Prince Shining Armor, and his wife Princess Cadence is there trying to protect the Empire as well.

Personally I find this episode to be a rather poor beginning to the new season. There seems to be quite a few plot holes in it and inconsistencies with the past of the series. For example, Princess Celestia says she knows very little of the kingdom yet she was alive when it around before. Also in the flashback it shows two Alicorns defeating the evil King, one looks like Celestia while the other looks like Luna, but Luna by that time was already in the moon as Nightmare Moon. Not only do these inconsistencies bug me, but the way certain characters act bug me as well. Princess Luna seems rather uncertain of Twilight's abilities in this episode, and seems to look down on her with how she was animated. Perhaps this wasn't what they meant to do but the glaring Luna did in this episode seemed rather out of character for who she is. All in all, I find the first episode to be a let down for the show.
